Attendees at the workshop, held at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Sacramento, will receive up-to the-minute analysis of the state budget from a county perspective, review legislative developments of particular importance to county boards, learn critical advocacy strategies and deepen their understanding of how the California Collaborative for Educational Excellence’s (CCEE) Community Engagement Initiative can accelerate academic performance and close achievement gaps for students.
CCEE staff will lead an interactive session that walks participants through the Statewide System of Support and how that can be used to drive achievement for students through data-based strategies and meaningful community engagement. Attendees will also benefit from advocacy training featuring 15-minute scenarios to confidently engage legislators and push for priorities that matter to local county offices of education and their communities.
The workshop also features multiple networking opportunities and breakout sessions led by county offices in partnership with county superintendents and the California County Superintendent Association. These sessions will dive into key topics, including the vital roles and responsibilities of board members and superintendents, providing clarity on how to strengthen board leadership and alignment in county offices.
Don’t miss this chance to connect with peers, build an expanded leadership toolkit and hear how county offices collaborate to help districts succeed. Attendees will walk away with actionable insights and tools to elevate governance practices and better support their COEs. Working together will help to empower California’s students and communities!
