Nominations open for 2022 CSBA Officers
President-elect and Vice President nominations accepted through Tuesday, June 1
The CSBA Nominating Committee encourages CSBA members to participate in this year’s election process for the offices of CSBA Vice President and President-elect. The following criteria will be used to evaluate potential officer candidates.
A CSBA leader:
  • Communicates effectively on behalf of public education and, as the face of CSBA, advocates CSBA’s vision, mission and governance structure.
  • Leads successfully in the face of extreme change and challenges.
  • Demonstrates advocacy for and knowledge of the diverse educational, social and emotional needs of all students throughout the state through the lens of equity.
  • Exhibits knowledge of education finance, budget and accountability issues on a statewide basis.
  • Understands, articulates and influences the Legislature’s impact on public education.
  • Engages and strengthens the power and decision-making of local governance teams.
  • Exemplifies strong leadership skills, including the ability to collaborate, motivate and inspire with ethics and integrity through knowledge and innovation.
  • Commits the time, attention and energy necessary to serve as a CSBA officer.
Potential candidates must:
  • Serve on a school district or county board that is a member of CSBA.
  • Have completed two years as a member of the Delegate Assembly and four years as a board member on a member board.
  • Submit a minimum of three (3) Nomination Forms for 2022 CSBA Officers. Nominations may be made by either a school or county board that is a member of CSBA, or by an individual member of a CSBA member board.

Nomination forms must be received by CSBA no later than Tuesday, June 1.

Those candidates who have received three (3) separate nomination forms will have until Monday, July 12, to submit a formal Declaration of Candidacy packet. Interviews are currently scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021. Nomination forms and additional information about the nomination process are available on CSBA’s website at www.csba.org/OfficerElections.
