Register early for the CCBE Annual Conference

Registration for the 2021 CCBE Annual Conference opens May 20. The conference planning committee has high hopes that health conditions and proper mitigation strategies will allow for an in-person event Sept. 10–12 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Monterey, Calif. If not, the conference will be virtual.

The planning committee is working to provide a conference that will inspire attendees to enhance their knowledge about the county board member leadership role, make decisions through an equity lens to effectively respond to the diverse needs of students, build leadership skills to become effective agents of change through a high-functioning team, and learn innovative tools and policies that are necessary to support county board members.

Early bird registration fee is available through July 28 at $349
“We who serve on county boards of education always benefit from networking, sharing and learning at our annual conference. But more than ever before, it’s urgent,” said CCBE President-elect and Conference Planning Committee Chair Joe Ross of the San Mateo County Board of Education. “We have a critical role to play as schools return to full in-person learning this fall. Now is the time for us to come together and equip ourselves to be even better leaders for the communities we serve.”
Conference workshop topics include:
  • Advocacy, engagement and community relations
  • Computer science and learning in a digital world
  • Equitable access and accountability
  • Funding, finance and facilities
  • Leadership through governance and policy
  • Wellness and safety, the whole child, school climate
  • COE best practices: special education, community schools, adult education, CTE and other programs.

Early bird registration fee is available through July 28 at $349. The regular fee is $399 through Sept. 3, and thereafter increases to $449.
