Join CSBA and the Association of California School Administrators’ Coast2Coast 2022 federal advocacy trip to Washington, D.C. from April 25–27 to shine a light on the issues affecting the state’s 6 million students. California governance team members — school and county board members and superintendents — are urged to attend this three-day inaugural event held in our nation’s capital.

The event will begin with a day of education policy issues specific to California, an “insider’s” briefing on the latest politics affecting federal education policy, and a networking opportunity with prominent D.C. figures and fellow educators. The training is followed by two days of meetings on Capitol Hill to advocate directly with California congressional representatives, White House officials, key federal agency leaders and other top policymakers.

“As the associations representing the future of the largest state economy in the country, CSBA and ACSA are taking our advocacy for California’s students to the federal level.”
Vernon M. Billy, CSBA CEO & Executive Director

“As the associations representing the future of the largest state economy in the country, CSBA and ACSA are taking our advocacy for California’s students to the federal level,” said CSBA CEO & Executive Director Vernon M. Billy. “By telling the stories of our triumphs and challenges on behalf of the state’s more than 6 million children to our federal representatives, local board members and superintendents can have an impact on national-level policymaking.”

Attendees will have the chance to advocate on the top federal issues affecting California’s schools. Topics of focus will include special education funding, expanding broadband access, child nutrition and the Secure Rural Schools Program, which helps fund essential services (including school services) in communities that are home to federal land, in addition to other issues of importance.

Optional programs on Sunday, April 24 include a networking reception and tours of the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial and the Natural Museum of African American History & Culture, the only national museum devoted exclusively to the documentation of African American life, history and culture.

Space is limited; register by April 14, 2022!
