Nominations open for 2027 CSBA Officers

The CSBA Candidate Review Committee encourages CSBA members to participate in this year’s election process for the offices of CSBA Vice President and President-elect.

The criteria used to evaluate potential officer candidates is as follows:

A CSBA leader:
  • Acting as the face of CSBA, communicates effectively on behalf of public education and advocates for and supports CSBA’s vision, mission, policy platform and governance structure.
  • Advocates for and exhibits knowledge and understanding of the diverse educational, economic, social and emotional needs of all students statewide, with a focus on equity, diversity and inclusion.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership skills, ethics and integrity, with the ability to collaborate, motivate and inspire others.
  • Leads successfully in the face of ongoing change and challenges.
  • Exhibits knowledge of state and federal policies affecting education finance, budget and accountability.
  • Has the knowledge necessary to drive the conversation to improve public education, optimize school funding and close the achievement gap.
  • Supports the power and decision-making of local governance teams, and advocates for local control.
  • Commits the time, attention and energy necessary to serve as a CSBA officer.
Potential candidates must:
  • Serve on a school district or county board that is a member of CSBA.
  • Have completed two years as a member of the Delegate Assembly and four years as a board member on a member board.
  • Submit a minimum of three (3) Nomination Forms for 2026 CSBA Officers. Nominations may be made by either a school or county board that is a member of CSBA, or by an individual member of a CSBA member board.

Nomination forms must be received by CSBA no later than Friday, June 5.

Those candidates who have received three (3) separate nomination forms will have until Friday, July 10, to submit a formal Declaration of Candidacy packet. The first round of candidate interviews is currently scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 29, 2026.
