Application period opens April 1
csba aec

Calling all education changemakers! CSBA is seeking trailblazing ideas for its 2024 Annual Education Conference and Trade Show in Anaheim, Dec. 5–7.

From April 1 to May 3, CSBA is inviting members from across the state to submit proposals that will spark important conversations and shape the future of public education in California.

Share your expertise in two ways:

  1. Workshops: Dive deep into specific themes or challenges featuring practical applications, strategies and programs that your local educational agency has used to address specific challenges, facilitated discussions and collaborative learning opportunities.
  2. Table Talks: Ignite discussions on emerging topics and critical trends in a dynamic, small-group setting.

This is your chance to connect and share with colleagues from across the state, influence education policy and leave a lasting impact on California’s classrooms. Don’t miss this exciting opportunity! Visit the AEC website (aec.csba.org) on or after April 1 to view the call for proposal requirements, criteria for a strong proposal, 2024 strand descriptions, workshop and table talk details, presenter types and more. Submit your proposal and join us in shaping the future of education.

csba golden awards
Golden Awards

The Golden Awards honor the hard work and dedication of governing boards and district staff in creating innovative programs that improve student achievement and well-being in the state’s preK-12 public schools. They also recognize effective governance and boardsmanship of an individual board member and a governance team, and the important role education journalists play in creating awareness in the community.

Applications for all three awards categories open April 1, and the deadline to submit is June 28, 2024. Categories include:

  • The Golden Bell Awards, which recognize outstanding programs and governance practices of school boards in districts and county offices of education throughout California.
  • The Golden Gavel Awards, which recognize individual board members and governance teams who exemplify best practices in effective governance and boardsmanship.
  • The Golden Quill Awards, which are given in recognition of fair, insightful and accurate reporting on public school news by individual print, broadcast and online news media representatives.
