CSBA’s 2024 Annual Education Conference and Trade Show (AEC) will feature keynote deliveries by experts explaining the science of wellness, how technology can help create a more equitable future, and innovation in education governance through the use of artificial intelligence (AI).

After an emotionally tolling few years for education systems, Dr. Laurie Santos will kick the event off on a positive note at the First General Session by sharing practical insights and strategies on increasing happiness, reducing stress and flourishing in life.

Santos, host of “The Happiness Lab Podcast,” is the Chandrika and Ranjan Tandon Professor of Psychology at Yale University and formerly served as the institution’s Head of Silliman College. Her work centers around how behavioral change through positive psychology can lead to a happier and more fulfilling life. She has received numerous awards both for science and teaching from institutions such as Yale and the American Psychological Association.

During the Second General Session, attendees will explore the possibilities of tomorrow through a 20-year journey of invention with Dr. Cori Lathan, a neuroscientist, author of the bestselling book “Inventing the Future: Stories from a Techno-Opimist” and founder of Anthrotronix.

Lathan’s story includes innovations such as CosmoBot, an educational robot for children with disabilities; 3D-Space, a virtual reality experiment in space; and String, a device that stimulates your brain. Lathan will share her optimistic view of the future and detail her belief that technology should amplify our strengths, bridge our capabilities and forge an equitable tomorrow. Audiences will learn how to embark on their own adventure to invent the future in this keynote.

As the rapid integration of AI in our society continues, attendees won’t want to miss the Third General Session featuring redbutton.ai Founder Sam Stanton and Chief of Staff and Partnerships Robbie Sawyer.

Stanton is known for his expertise in creative thinking, technology and innovation and consistently remains at the cutting edge, leading advancements in tech, science and transformative experiences. Sawyer is a master at forging strategic relationships and uncovering new tools that streamline and invigorate every level of professional life.

At AEC, the duo will speak on the tools needed to leverage AI effectively, driving innovation and improving educational outcomes for California students.
